Microscopy provider will now offer telemicroscopy and digital pathology systems

May 4, 2021 (Carlsbad, CA) – Mikroscan Technologies, innovators and manufacturers of live robotic microscopy and whole-slide imaging (WSI) systems, announces that it has entered into a distribution agreement with Micronix Systems

Micronix Systems will market and distribute Mikroscan’s telemicroscopy and digital pathology systems—the SL5 Dual-Mode Real-Time Telemicroscopy and Digital Pathology system, the L5 Real-Time Telemicroscopy system, and the new 5-20 Series systems with 20-slide autoloader—throughout the Northeast Region of the United States.

The partnership expands Micronix’s core offerings, which focus on servicing the microscopy needs of hospital, pharmaceutical, research, and clinical laboratories. Micronix will add to that portfolio by providing Mikroscan’s remote microscopy solutions to busy and scarce pathologists so they can perform their duties remotely, thereby providing faster, more accurate results and reaching more patients in need.

“Mikroscan’s products are a natural fit for our company. We continue to encounter users who would benefit from elevating their traditional microscopy work with remote, real-time capabilities. Robotic microscopes like Mikroscan’s L5 system allow pathologists to serve the needs of patients outside their geographical area without traveling, a pain point that burdens and restricts already overworked pathologists. We are happy to provide them with an affordable, reliable solution to improve their daily work,” said Michael MacDougall, founder and CEO of Micronix.

“With over 1,300 accounts and an excellent reputation for service, Micronix has really made a name for itself in the microscopy industry. We are proud to partner with such an established and trusted leader in the microscopy space who intimately understands the rapidly increasing needs of pathologists to work remotely,” said Martin Stuart, president and CEO of Mikroscan.

Micronix will sell, service, and support the Mikroscan systems, acting as a full-service provider and streamlining the process for users.
